It has the later style head stock inlaid but flying finger pup. I can't tell by the wood but somebody must be able to. With a June 97 manufacture date, it could be either. Ace |

2640 or AR1200, in '79 who knows? There doesn't seem to be much consistency in the features. There's another one listed on e-Bay right now (with a BIN of $3,500, and a description of "RARE" sunburst, doh!) and it's got different machine heads and the brass/bone nut. Can't tell from the crappy pictures (goes for both listings) but that one looks like it's got 58's. Ebay Item #330138019119 Does anyone have a link to a '79 catalog, or does one even exist? |

The 12-string headstock has the early 2618-12 shape vs the later AR112 shape. I'd say it has more feature of the 2640 than the AR1200. The Bear |

didn't they move to the AR models in '80 or '81? i thought they were the 26xx until then. i think the 2617 last year was '80. when the AR versions came out there was no ash model. |

Bear I think D_g's "Shame" AR 500 has a late 1978 serial...if I'm not mistaken. Not that it relates to catalogs...but, I was surprised to see it. |
