I wasn't sure whether to post to this topic or in Cool Contemporary Electrics (1980s and Later). Back in the late 70s/early 80s in upper New York state I had a buddy that owned an Iceman. I have no clue what year or model it was and my friend is long gone so I can't ask him. All I can tell you is that it was the most beautiful shade of deep emerald green I have ever seen. It looked black until you got it out in the sunlight and then it just glowed. I've tried looking in old catalogs but that color is never listed in the ones I've found. Is it even possible to identify the year and model of a guitar by its color? If so, can anyone shed some light on this or point me in the right direction? Thanks, - Pete |

Peter, That colour would be midnight olive and the guitar was most likely an IC400. Head over to mark Hartman's site for some photo's of his MO Iceman. Cheers, Munch |

Munch - I had seen the midnight olive color listed but, when I think of "olive", I think more of an olive drab than this deep green so I just dismissed it. Thanks for setting me straight. - Pete |
