I know I've seen another one at least similar to this, with the "Baby Vine." (maybe in someone's family picture), but what exactly is it? Looks like a cross between a Les Paul, a C.A. & a freaking JEM Jr. If my chemically induced memory serves me correct (and it rarely does), those pickups remind me of what a Super 80 looked like under the "Butterfly Covers." It's a little dull & dusty, but decent, What's this thing gonna go for? |

Hi DaveHowardcustom What is offered here is the model number 2660BK. It has been in production from 1975 until 1978, as far as I know. The pickups are Super 70´s with "open coil casings", as I like to call them. These are metal casings with 2 oblong openings, which reveal the bobbins. These guitars are pretty rare and popular amongst Ibanez collectors. I´d say that the one in the link above is from around 1976/1977 and in original condition. Like you said: it needs a little cleaning and polishing, but I think it is a "hidden beauty". Value? I think that a price between 500 and 600 US dollars is justified. Kind greetz, Harry |
