Hi guys, I'm new here so I'm hoping you can help me with some advice! I've been on the lookout for one of the old Artist guitars since my old guitar teacher got himself one off Ebay (just a bit after the new ones came out, I'd have picked one of those up by now but I hear the older one's are MUCH better). I've been following an auction for a 1980 AR300 and it's currently at £460/$930(ish) with a hard case and some new pickups - you can see it here :: Ebay Item #140167473311 How much are these valued at nowdays? Is it worth going in for it still? |

The sound on that one will be a lot different than an original artist, because of the different pickups. Also, if you're in the states I would avoid that one, because you'll have to deal with customs, high shipping, and insurance that will increase the cost of that guitar considerably. Just my 2 cents... Patrick |

Shipping overseas is also dangerous without a specific flight case. Regular cases aren't sturdy enough to handle being thrown around by airport gorillas, and having a bunch of crap thrown on top of them in the luggage bins. My AR500 arrived from France with a cracked neck joint. |

AR-500? Are you the Heartfielder from Jemsite? I'd be interested in that 500 as well :-D |
