I got this from Hasy... all the way from Switzerland. Thanx Hasy, it's nice. This photo is the one he showed me, I have not taken my own photos yet. My guitar buddy has one of these, a '76 model and I've been trying to get it off him since '76... to no avail. The condition on the Swiss one is amazing compared to my buddy's but it was nice to see them both together. There were some noticeable differences between the 2. The position of the strap button on the horn, mine has 10 screws around the pickguard the '76 has 12. The black dots in the fretboard are larger on the '76. The string holders (B & E strings on the headstock) are black on the '76 chrome on mine. The neck on the '76 is much thinner than mine, much. The '76 feels a tiny bit heavier but not much. I'm having a bit of a problem having it hold the tuning but it seems to be improving and maybe the axe just needs to settle down a bit after it's journey from Switzerland to New york. The bridge on the '76 lays completely flat against the body. The bridge on mine is up off the guitar a tiny bit on the low end of the bridge but I think that can be adjusted and I think if I get that bridge down flat it may help it hold the tuning. That should be easy, a few turns of a screw. I'm happy to have this so Thanx hasy, nice axe. |

Bob, Strats don't like to let the trem float. Remove the back cover and tighten the 2 screws that hold the spring claw. That should pull the trem tight against the body. If that doesn't cure the tuning problem it's probably the tuners or a string hanging up in the nut slot after bends or bar use. Rick |

Thanx guys. Stretching the strings really helped with the tuning. It's pretty good now and I had intended to tighten those screws as well but it's pretty dang good now and a remarkable guitar. It's fun to own. The amount the bridge isn't flat is only about 1/16" it's a tiny gap but I'm going to get it down flat. Great range of sound on this axe w/ the 3 position switch. |
