Can somebody explain the difference(s) between the pf100, 200, 300 and 400 series? I have a 300. Sorry if this is a dumb question. also is it explained anywhere on the site? Thanks very much.

100 and 200 are bolt ons.
300 and 400 setnecks. 300 has and arched ply top and 400 solid carved top.

thanks very much Lespaul. Would there be the expected differences in trim - tailpiece, binding, etc, or is it strictly neck and top diffs? I have noticed different tailpieces on 300's for instance, and i'm wondering if there was rhyme or reason to it? thanks again.

The hardware style is depending on year of build. Has got nothing to do with modelnumber as far as I am aware.

Blondax,

The PF100 had dot markers and single ply binding. PF200 and above had block markers and multi-ply binding. PF230 had 3 pickups. PF300 and 400 had tri-sound switch on neck pickup.

The fancy tailpiece used on some of these PF models were left over inventory from the Randy Scruggs model.

Cheers,

Mark
