At first, I thought the seller has just misread the serial number, mistaking F77.... for the later numbering, and assuming it means Fujigen 1987, but that really, it is a June 1977 model. The spaghetti logo fits possibly for 1977, but the pups should be Ibanez logo pups if it is a '77.

Or maybe I'm just over-analyzing and it's just a '77 with replaced pups?

Hi Chuck

I understand your doubts, but there are really a few varieties of the CA model (concerning the parts) that are original stock. I've seen more CA's with "ordinary" pickups (without the embossed Ibanez logo). Probably they ran out of embossed covers at some point and continued the production by using plain Super 70's. I even saw CA's with the correct fancy curly pickguard that didn't have the "Ibanez Custom" inscription.
Serial number is correct, the fact that the seller says that it's made in 1987 is a mistake.

Kind greetz,
Harry

I agree with Harry, this guitar looks like a pretty typical '77 CA.....most likely completely stock. Logo pups disappeared in the first half of '77, so it may even be stock

Funny to see that the "Super 70's" sticker was interpreted as a guitar series indication.
My 2355M was sold to me as a "Super 70's jazz guitar" by a luthier. Someone traded it against a handmade guitar. Which shows what some luthiers think about copy cat guitars, even if they're from Ibanez ("yet another would-be-Gibson guitar").

"The Super 70 pickup? Never heard of..."

This way of presenting the guitar may result in less bidders and a lower price... until it is put on ICW of course...
