Tasty, even though it's got some non-original parts.

Interesting solution for solving the lack of space between the bridge and treble pickup for the Roland synth pup.

Can you members from the UK fill us in on the artists that he mentions? I think I've heard Hawkwind on Rhapsody, they are classified as Prog Rock, I believe.

I think this one's been on Ebay before. Maybe a month or 2 ago.

Hawkwind had there first hit – Silver Machine – about 1971. They’re still going but have non of the original members. I believe Lemmy from Motorhead played with them.

By all means prove me wrong – they’re not really to my taste (comment not meant to be offensive in any way)

I’ve also seen this guitar elsewhere on this site

A bit of history.

The Hawkwind track mentioned was from their 1980 album called "Levitation" with guitarists Dave Brock (vocals) and Huw Lloyd-Langton. Ginger Baker (of Cream fame) played drums on the album, along with Tim Blake (keyboards) and Harvey Bainbridge (bass & keyboards).

Alan Davey's album "Captured Rotation" was recorded in 1996, and basically played everything.

Lemmy joined Hawkwind in around 1971/72, and first appeared on record whilst the band were promoting the 1971 album "In Search of Space", and famously captured on their excellent (IMO) live album "Space Ritual". The band were on tour in North America in 1974, promoting "Warrior at the Edge of Time" when the band crossed the Canadian border, Lemmy was found to be in possession of Amphetamines (speed), and arrested. The band carried on, Lemmy was sacked and then went on to form Motorhead mk1 with Larry Wallis & Phil Taylor, recording their first album "On Parole" in 1976.

Both Hawkwind and Motorhead appealed to both rockers & punks with their music & politics, frequently appearing at free festivals, such as Stonehenge & outside the Isle of Wight. An infamous tale of the Isle of Wight festival was that the band went on stage late one night, a little worse for wear after consuming a few too many illegal substances, and some bloke gets on stage to jam with them. This goes on for a while, as the bloke is quite good, everyone finishes the jam, hands are shaken and everyone parts company. The next day when the band comes around, they are informed that they jammed with a certain Mr James Marshall Hendrix the previous night.

Didn't know they used an Artist though, which is cool. I've seen them a few times over the years, and seen a great variety of guitars, from Westone Spectrums to Les Pauls. Alan Davey used a 4001 with gusto.

This axe has been drilled to accomodate the synth stuff, so If you are planning on bidding/winning and removing the add ons, you'll have holes to contend with.
