Please can someone shed some light on this. I have an Ibanez Moderne copy, is this the Futura or the Futurist. Was the Moderne copy ever made of Korina or was it always Ash. I am sorry to ask such basic questions but we don't tend to find out a lot about vintage Ibanez guitars in the UK. I have seen Moderne copies being sold for $1400 in the states but I have never seen another in the UK. |

Coming in late on this on. but... I have a Moderne copy that I bought back in '78 in Kitchen's Music in Leeds for £150. I've only ever seen one other "in the flesh", and that was in Johnny Roadhouse in Manchester some time in the early 90's, when they had it tagged for £175. Like a pillock I didn't buy it. Anyhow, until I started scanning the Net, I always referred to mine as a Futurist, and I'm certain that's what it was tagged as, although I lost the hang tags and the like in the 80's sometime, so there's no way of verifying it. It's god to hear that someone else in the UK refers to the model as that, and it's not just me going senile :) Cheers - Steve K |
