Hi everybody, I bought an Ibanez PF200 four years ago, but I recently saw one in a shop in Toulouse which was quite different : 1 - the screws' covers on the gibraltar bridge were different 2 - The truss-rod cover (with "PF-200" on it) was made of plastic (as on every photo I found on the web) while mine is made of metal 3 - The serial number of the PF200 in the shop was 78xxxx. Mine has not. I mean, the metal piece used to fix the neck does say "MADE IN JAPAN", but with no serial number. And if I don't make a mistake, when you replace it, it is always without any word on it. So, I wonder if I have a special model. If you can help me find the truth... Thanks ! |

Ibanezkid.......Hold on a second there kid, that PF-200 sounds like a run of the mill European post '78 Performer. Although in the US the Performer line basically lasted a little over 1 year ('78/'79) the line continued in Europe (and elsewhere ?) well into the 80's with MANY variants, including unusual model numbers (PF 155, PF350) and configurations. Like a set neck version with dot inlays (I had a white one and was never able to identify it) The PF series was produced in very large numbers, especially the 100/200...somehow I think calling this guitar-without even seeing it-a prototype or "special Order" is jumping the gun a bit..... |
