...and you will not believe what happened! A customer walks in to the store today with a well worn but original Custom Agent (February 1977). Since I had never seen one in the flesh, I made a bit of a fuss over it commenting on the how the headstock scroll was still intact. Then, as we were completeing her transaction at the counter, she hands the guitar to her friend and BANG, the guitar hits the floor. I was sick to my stomach. Sure as hell, the scroll got knocked off clean as a whistle. I found the piece and returned it to her. Steve |

Aw... that's so sad to hear. Especially since I'm looking for the right Custom Agent to come my way. Were you buying the instrument? |

Ouch! Was the girl not expecting it to be so heavy? |

Steve: So what was the girl's reaction? Was her friend male or female? Did she beat them with the broken end of the headstock? |

Both were female. No violence, but no joy either. They came in for some accessories. Near as I could tell, the friend just didn't get a good grip and the guitar slipped... Steve |

I hope everyone has learned a lesson here.... Girls? Guitars? Girls? Guitars? (That's a joke .... relax!) But... this is true... a customer comes in to my store last year, buys a 2004 Harley-Davidson Road King. Doesn't tell his wife. When she sees it in the garage... she goes up to his 1972 Les Paul Standard (cherry burst) and... carves into it. With a spoon! OH MY!!! Why a spoon? I have no idea, but it got the point across. The LP is basically unsalvageable... as far as the cosmetics. Girls? Guitars? Girls ? Guitars? I actually have some other decent horror stories involving girls and guitars.... but.... nevermind. |
