Super 88s predated the f-spaced pickups by quite some time.

I needed to be more specific. SSIA means "Subject says it all". Also, thank you for answering my question. If I was to replace the Super 88's in my 79 Musician I would be better off using standard spaced pickups rather than f-spaced ones? I assume the anwer to be yes considering your info.
Also, since I've got you here :-) What are peoples opinions of the Super 88's in general. In reading many of the posts here over time I see that 50's, 70's and others seem to be the preferred pickup in the vintage Ibanez guitars. Never having anything but the original pups in my musician, I have no point of comparison of the super 88's.
Are they high output?
What frequency range do they favor? (lows,highs etc..)
How do they compare output and frequency wise to say a Dimarzio superII or Super distortion?
What are peoples thoughts about pickup replacement? Does it hurt the collectability of the guitar if you keep the originals to put back in if wanted?

Obviously knowledge about these pickups and pickups in general is not my strong suit. There are many more knoweledgeable people around here who I hope to get their 2 cents worth regarding this subject.
