What is the percentage eBay charges on reserve price? 2%? 3%? ...if people are willing to pay the fee on clearly "un-sellable" items, what can you say? Ace |

I think eBay charges for the ad and a bit of the Selling price, if you have a Reserve you pay a percentage up to a certain point (in dollars) then the rate drops a little bit... Still they make a killing. It encourages guys to negociate with a serious bidder to end the auction early for a set price, then the seller can cancel the bids, pull the listing and pay for the ad... |

Hi guys, The ad paid for itself on the first day. The listing cost less than $30.00 flaming emails from people who checked the potential buyer box. suggestions of opening second accounts. Now THAT's unethical Thanks |

Bluzrok1: so if most of those that wrote are correct one of his buddies is buying the guitar from him. WHY you ask ?? Because most people get turned off by what APPEARS to be shill bidding. I recently sold a 70s Ibanez Byrdland - it worried me when (the first time around) I had a COUPLE of zero feedback users bidding - just the appearance of inpropriety... Have a nice day. |

How successful such annoying tactic is will be determined by how many bids the auction gets and ultimately how much the item is sold for. I think there is a good chance that it won't receive any legitimate bid at all. One way for the seller to save face though: have a bunch of friends to bid it up. But eBay will charge accordingly, ah, darn it. |

Jeff, Its not THAT nice..."Bug" headstock and all-no log pups..I think he put a new tail pc on it too 'cause the tail pc is a lot shiner than the bridge..the only thing that CA has going for it is the orignal pickguard... |

Yeah, afetr looking at it again I agree. Relatively speaking, its not that nice, but I (like you) think any CA is great. NFW a CA is worth is 2500. Well, unless its CW and in mint condition! js |

But the BIN price is almost $4000 Aus. over here. We cop this all the time, sellers listing thier items in US hoping that someone jumps at it without realizing the actual price in Aus dollars. |
