How much do you think the neck alone would be worth? |

Sad indeed. I wonder what how it'd look if someone highly skilled repaired it? |

Paint job? Unfortunately. We've seen paint on one or two of these under similar circumstances. The holes are difficult to overcome, even with fill. |

Hi Bob, Finding original parts wont be too difficult. A good paint job isn't that expensive. It's still a Tree of Life model after all. six |

These never came painted correct?? Yeah, at first I thought I could fix it by routing about 1/2" off the top of the body from the back of the bridge pickup to the bottom edge of the body and replace with a piece of ash. I did this to a korina V that had a floyd rose and its undetectable (search my name on this site and look for flying v resto to see start to finish pics). But then I looked closer and saw that unlike my V, the posts on this guitar are spread further, so the piece to be routed and replaced is wider than the pickups, meaning you would have to route all the way to the neck. It would be hard enough to get just to the edge of the abolone on the bottom, and next to impossible around the neck. Bummer!!! Now if this model ever came painted, and the price on this one was lower I would jump on it. Lots of ifs!!! Jerry |

I know Jerry's work first hand as he did his magic on a Hofner violin bass that I have and it was absolutely amazing. Ace |

What about drilling out the plugs and making new plugs from ash? You could search for a piece of ash that had very similar grain pattern, plug the holes with the grain matched as closely as possible, then fake in the grain with a tiny paintbrush just like Jerry did. -Sven |
