I thought the grin you put next to your post meant you snagged it! I looked at this good but vacation killed my funds. It went for 15 dollars more than I paid for the ST100. What a steal! |

Hi, I won the ST300 auction. I found this forum while searching for info on the guitar. Does anyone know where I can get more information on the electronics? Control positions, schematics, etc? One of the switches was advertised as non-working so it may need some repair. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

That link was the only info I had to go on before bidding. I had no idea there was such a thing as a ST300 until a few days ago, was looking for something to fill-in while I fixed the awful refinish on a wonderful old Iceman, and wound up finding a really interesting guitar. If there is a black three position switch for each pickup, what does the silver one do? |

I think the silver toggle switch turns the active eq on and off. Lenny |

The guitar should be here tomorrow. Does anyone know of a good hardshell case that will fit the ST300? I also need one for what appears to be an old IC50 Iceman. |

Here are some pics of the ST300 picked off Ebay. It was advertised with a non-working switch that turned out to be a dead battery. I don't know how long it has been since someone opened up the electronics cavity. Very old battery, all the foam had fallen apart and stuck to everything, and all the nuts had come off the circuit board. Wound up with three spacers, three nuts, and two screws which was enough to get it fastened back down. Cleaned all the pots and jack. Despite some bump and bruises and corroded hardware it plays great. Has a nice singing quality and each string rings clear no matter how much distortion you throw at it. I had no plans to collect old Ibanez guitars. But now the '80 Iceman loaded with Metal Livewires (also a steal of a deal on Ebay)has a new sibling and I couldn't be happier. Now my only concern is that my guitar room might not be big enough, and I need to find cases for them both. Rob
