Just bought AR1200 Doubleneck, there's a recent thread here with photos. Why do they have 2 inputs? Thanx and does anyone have production #'s for 1983?

Here is a link to a catalog spec sheet. It says dual outputs so I;m assuming that there is one for each neck and maybe one is mono for both necks. Try it out and see what happens.

Hey Bob,
They have two outputs that spit the necks. Example: you can send the 6 string to your Marshall, and send the 12 to your Jazz Chourus.

Tube.... I considered that. Are you sure? Kinda weird to be on stage with 2 chords going into your guitar. I guess, in a studio recording situation it may make a bit of sense. Are you 100% sure that's the deal with the 2 inputs? and... Thanx. What about the headstock? Should there be 2 neckplates that say "Artist" ?

bob did you try each one independent of eachother to see if one was mono for both necks when using 1 amp?

Freak... I tried both.... unfortunately, I couldn't discern any difference between the two. I am hoping someone who owns one will chime in and help me out here. What about the neck plates? Should they both say "artist?" Seewhat Tubescorcher syas above? I considered that.... he may be right but I'd like verification.

All catalogue (scans) I have seen just say dual outputs. No further explaination.
All pictures I have seen show two engraved truss rod covers.

It's possible the factory used only one "Artist" cover. Look at the screws for signs of removal(yeah it's not a for sure way) but if there are absolutely NO signs of tamper...that a good thing, and lends to originality. Also is the construction of the second blank one "identicial" to the ingraved one?..Front to back, side to side?

Hey Bob,
Funny, I was just using Marshall and the Jazz Chourus as an example and it turns out those are the Amps you named in another post!!! Anyway, try routing each output to a different source, then turn the Master volume down and see if you gain individual neck control.

If you plug into one jack you get both, if you plug in both jacks the six string goes to one and the 12 string to the other. This is intended for using one amp for the 6 string and a second amp for the 12 string...BTW I have two AR1200's and both have "Artist" on both truss rod covers.

Thanx dudes........ I'm a bit confused by the info above.... I will try to figure it out. Is it definite that I should be looking for another truss rod cover? The one on there does not look likes it's an add-on. It looks exactly (almost) like the other one, except for the "Artist" being missing.

take both covers to the trophy shop, and have them engrave the blank one using the stylus to
trace the font in the engraved one. you have nothing to lose and it should be cheaper than finding a replacement.

Bob, i think this the Artist truss rod cover you're looking for, maybe not the price you were looking for.

Bob, if you're still confused about the inputs... I have tried an AR1200 and it's right what Tubescorcher and Steveg219 said. Plug in one and you have both necks, plug in two and you'll have each neck independently going to two different amps. Just experiment yourself.
Now, two cables going into your guitar is weird.. Well, two necks going into it is already 'kinda weird' if you think, isn’t it? …. Joking..
