An EMG! Of all the pickups to choose from, they've put a flamin' EMG in there! *sigh* |

Sorry, it isn't pretty, but might be able to be resurrected. Nice late model tuners as well. |

Not much for a non-Iceman man to go on from your input as to what pup you would have in there. C'mon now! |

Originally it would have had a triple coil, like this: Here's what Harry and Hasy's site has to say about it: Model 2663t Selected mahogany top with mahogany body Hard laminated mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod Ebonized rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays Chrome plated metal parts and smooth-tuner machine heads Special design Ibanez 3 coil pickup 4 position tone selector switch, volume and tone control Rich brown sunburst finish |

Thanks JS/H&H! Why that must make 18 coils...cool. Is the pup quiet? Reminds me of half Explorer/Hofner 'fiddlebass' What does the stock Iceman sound like? |

A stock, twin humbucker, mahogany Iceman sounds like a cross between an SG and a Firebird. IMO. |

I always keep the original parts if I mess with pickups etc. As it is now, I'd probably put the humbucker further back and stick a single coil in front of that to see what she sounded like. Bit like the old Hamer Phantoms. I wonder if the rotary still works although the selector indicator ring is missing? six |

Missing ring? Must be painful! ;) Sorry...couldn't resist. ;) |
