Looking for help in identifying these weird PUP's. Opened old Ibanez Futura and found these, solder joints look original, PUPS look very much like Super 70's right up to the matching ink stamp. All the literature on this guitar states Super 70's. Anyone ever seen these before ? If so where ?

The typeface on the "U-3000" looks a lot like the "V-2" on the V2's |

The super 70's in my 2387DX are only ink stamped, no Super 70 engraving. They don't have braided wire either, just grey plastic coat.

Pickups with the "U-XXXX" engravings were used in Greco guitars although I could only find "U-1000" and "U-2000" PUs mentioned. The only references to a "U-3000" were at some Japanese websites. Maybe someone at the factory just reached for the wrong box... Juergen |

I noted the Greco connection, the question is: Are they original to this Futura ? |

Well it took almost 2 years, but I did finally get an answer to my question. The U-2000 & U-3000 pickups are basically the Maxxon Equivilent of the Super 70 and were used on GRECO guitars, sister guitars to Ibanez. I will take a closer look, but I believe these to be original to this guitar (the solder joints are perfect). |

Congrats, Dave! But... were the solder joints as "perfect" on both ends? |
