I'm very pleased with my AM-50. It's a very nice playing and sounding guitar. I'm so pleased with my AM-50 that I'm considering letting go of my AR-500! (OK, you can pick your jaw up off the table now!) I'm a player, not a collector. The AM-200/205/255 (and the recent unique AM-100) models are beautiful guitars, however, other than asthetics, are they worth (at least) twice what one would pay for an AM-50? I ask the same question regarding the thinner models. Personally, I really don't want to own too many guitars. I'd consider purchasing a more expensive AM if it really was that much better or different sounding or had coil taps, which are hard to come by. How do you AM owners feel? mk |

AM200/205/255s sound very different from an AM50 due to the mahogany vs. maple construction. Their ebony finger-boards have different feel as well as tone comparing to the rosewood on the AM50. They are not necessarily better, but quite different. Ace |
