Doesn't the newer AR-3000 come with a Prestige neck? Assuming it does, can anyone comment on it? I'd like to know how that neck compares with the Prestige necks on the non-AR guitars (ie: S, SA, SZ, JEM, etc). Thanks, mk |

It does have a Prestige neck. AR-3000 owners: please give details about the neck. http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM04/Content/Ibanez/PR/AR200-AR300-AR3000.htm l Thanks, mk |

Michael, While I do not own any of the non-AR guitars you mentioned, I've played the Wizard necks in sores. Not for me. Too thin and the radius too flat to my taste. I do like the non-Prestige AG, AK, AM necks a lot, however. The AR3000 (and 2000) both have more rounded, slightly thicker three pc. necks. At the nut they remind me of early AS200 and 2630 necks. As you travel up to the 12th fret, the AR Prestige seems to increase girth, but in a very comfortable, natural way. For a more technical, measured view of AR's and other Prestige models, here is the site I posted previously from a UK Ibanez dealer, The Ibanez Store: http://www.theibanezstore.com/oscommerce/product_info.php?products_id=207&osCsid =953ddc5ddf0ff782e6fd6f3bb23f75c2 |

I will have to say that I really like my AR3000 Prestige neck a lot. The only other Prsetige I played was the Gem, the white one with gold hardware and that guitar is in a class of its own! A-1. |

How would you describe the AR3000 neck vs older AR necks? Is it closer to the vintage Artist neck or the newer Jem neck. I also liked the Jem neck very much. mk |

I havent played an old AR that I can remember! Just an 80's AR100 that was at GC. I like the prestige better than that. It has a much more comfortable feel like the guitar is broken in by me. |

Michael - Does not all of this 'feel' stuff depend solely on the size of one's hand - length of fingers and width, height and thickness of palm? Just curious... |

I think it's a combination of the neck construction (materials, thickness, curvature, etc) and hand size / shape. I have very small hands and find large differences between the AR-500, AM-50 and Prestige necks. I'm very interestd in getting my hands on (pun intended!) an AR-3000 to check out the neck. |

For me, I get much better dexterity (XL Hands) with vintage AR necks (wide) than my shaved down LP Custom FW. For instance, fast hammer rills are much eaier and faster on the wider neck, but full bar chording is easier on the smaller necks...it's weird. |

I'll have to agree it depends on the players preference. I guess I got lucky with mine because its perfect for me. The frets are so smoothe when you bend notes. |
