Hey guys, So the artist ended up having a few quirks (3 back plates? Replaced Bridge) But it just played so beautifully that I couldn't let it go. Here are the pics: Any comments? The fret board 'feels' ebony and looks darker. Is it ebony? It's also missing its 'artist' truss rod cover, the original bridge, and I'm pretty sure the tuners have been changed too. |

The third plate looks almost like a trem spring rout. Amd is that a roller bridge? The 2618 had an ebony fretboard, and the machine heads have definintely been changed at some point as have the control knobs and tail piece, that's a QuikChangeII, featured on models like the Iceman and Destroyer's. At the end of the day, if it plays well and sounds good, then it's worth it. Enjoy. |

Check this out! It was under the plate on the back. Very strange. |

Hmm..Gotoh machines, Schaller roller-bridge (bet you can change string spacing with it..) but otherwise a healthy 2618.. if we dont count the additional serialnumber.. |

Well, I let the store know about the issue, and they put some money in for me to get it repaired, which is nice. It's in the shop now. I'll post pics when it's done |

Maybe the former owner wanted to make sure he would recognize it in case it was stolen.. ________________ It's looking good. Congratulations Fompsweeva, it's a fine instrument. I had the chance to try one. I think the balance (neck body) is perfect, nice to play and I really like the sound (although the one I tryed had different pickups - not the originals ... I'm not sure what it was). |
