We've talked about the 2622 & AR-500 EQ's being different. I assume that only two differenct EQ's cover those models?? Are there more? ie: for Musicians, Studios, etc. Also, the Cowboy has a "Bob Weir Special EQ". Is really different than the others? mk |

I have encountered only two eq-boards, although I must say that I have no knowledge about Studio models.. All Artists (exept AR 400) have the same configuration, 3-band eq and two different boards, although the same schematics. I guess that The Cowboy utilises the same board.. All Musicians have the same boards as Artists. I guess that Studios with 2-band eq share the same board as the AR 400... Correct if I am wrong... |

Fox: Are you saying that, for example, the AR-500 has two boards or that the AR-500 has a 3-band board and the AR-400 has a 2-band board. I'm pretty sure we recently had pictures of the 2622 vs. AR-500 board, so, maybe we're up to 3 plus possible another for the Cowboy?? mk |

ok, search for "EQ" and "board". There are pictures of two different EQ boards in Jim Donahue's section under the thread "Questions regarding 1979 AR500 initial/transitional model". Can someone please post the link here. I don't know how. |

It's been a while since I compared them but I'm fairly certain that my ST300 has the exact same board as my MC500 except it is missing one band worth of EQ (and the related electronics). I believe the rolloff frequencies are different though. Just an FYI... |

The RG600 (1986) had a 2-band EQ with Lo-Z pickups. Steve |

Mr. Roadstar, Now you mention it, I remember the AR4000 had the same combination. The 2-band EQ was called "EQII system," and its feature was: treble:}20db (center frequency: 6Khz) middle&bass:}13db (center frequency: 500hz) Here is a review from a Japanese guitar magagine (April, 1987): http://www.geocities.jp/hase1961/ARsecret/artist32.html The photo shown in the center of the page above is the "EQII system." |

The parts catalog from 1980 lists 5 different PCBs for guitars and basses. I'll receive a later catalog hopefully very soon, maybe that one has some later types listed... Juergen
