Thought some of you might be interested in this item. Looks to be in pretty good shape, price seems to be a little high?

Non Original Hard Shell Case (vs. OHSC)

Flying Fingers = Super 80 pickups. I may have seen some references to Super 70's having that design, however, I don't think that was the case.

As far as I know, all Weirs came with Super 80's. They have the logo on the pickup cover. It's hard to see in the pictures but if you look carefully, you can see them. Maybe there were exceptions??

Check out this auction for a good picture of the Super 80 w/ the flying fingers or butterfly or whatever. Does your Weir have these pups?

Actually my pickups just say "Ibanez" on the covers but on the back of the headstock there is a sticker that says "super 70's". My serial number is G766197. I am going to take some pictures and send them to you. I don't think I know how to put them on this site just yet.

I take back what I said as I now remember seeing 2680 (no Tree of Life) Weirs w/ Super 70's. I don't think I've ever seen a 2681 w/ Super 70's. Check out this intesting 2680:

2680

Remind you of anything?

Hey Michael, I took pictures but could not figure out how to make them small enough to post on this site so I mailed them to your email address. They should be waiting for you. Could you post them here? Or maybe tell me how I can change their size. I am using Microsoft Picture It 9.0

Ok Michael I think I may have it. I saw your advice about going to MSPaint to change the size of a picture. You are the man! Hope this works.

No. I had it done a few years after I bought the guitar. Bought it in 1976. Stars Guitars in San Francisco did the work. I added a single humbucker and also a 3 band EQ (small black knobs)

Frank:

We need more details on the EQ: who makes it & how does it work. Also, detail the electronics.

This may be the earliest 2681 I've seen. When did they switch to Super 80's?

I honestly don't know who makes the EQ, I just asked the tech to give me a 3 band EQ and he put it on. My best guess is that this was done in the late 70's. I will see if I have any documentation of the job but I doubt it. The 3 black knobs control the EQ, one each for high, mid, and treble. I hope this answers your questions. And thanks a bunch Michael for all your help recently.

I am in the central valley, bout 90 miles south of Sacramento (you know, where all the fog is!)

To bad ICW does not have some kind of gathering for all members to get together.

Looks like this seller was asking a bit too much for this model 2681. Curious to see if it gets re-listed at a lower price.

It's back........No bites at 3,000 now listed at beginning bid of 1,995! Quite a discount. Lets see how it does this time around. Looks to be in nice shape, I would think that it could fetch 2K. Not like there's hundreds of these out there.
