Hello fellas.

This is a wonderful instrument, no doubt, but on condition that it hadn't been tampered with. My problem is both simple and complicated. Simple, because the solution seems so obvious, complicated because the solution has been completely inaccessible so far. I have a great guitar but cannot make it work propely without the wiring schematics. I have spent more than three weeks studying different schematics, similar and completely different ones, and still nothing. And the story goes like this:

The guitar was legally bought somewhere around 1993 in Germany, then it was rennovated.; I bought it two years ago, and it played fine until during one of the shows the jack input got damaged. Since then signal has been a bit distorted (a lot of noisy humming). I took it to my technician and we tried to reconnect all the wires according to the diagrams for mc550 or ar300. Everything failed. The previous owner told us that the electrics had been rewired some time in the past but only on the basis of the electricians intuition. Today I managed to contact the same exact electrician who rewired the guitar 11 years ago, I took the instrument to his workshop and he told me that he can't remember how it went. So now the only hope is that there is someone who can share the wiring schematics for this guitar, and possbly owns some spare parts that might be needed (especially the stereo jack). I hope that you guys can help me or my only option is to completely readjust the wiring inside this beauty and do something completely different that works.

The serial number is: A805754
It has a Limited Edition label on the neck.

Please help.
Domingo.

Your listing says "MC3000"... do you mean "MC300"? and... can you post a photo here because I've never seen an mc3000 nor have I seen an mc300 with "limited edition" on it anywhere. So... I am interested to see a photo. I used to own an mc300... so I'd know one if I saw one.

Yikes! That's some guitar you have there Domingo. Very nice! I've never seen this one before. Maybe it is an mc3000 although I have never heard of that model. Someone on this site will definitely know what this is. It's neat to see, thx for the photos and good luck with your wiring diagram, I bet you have it by today.

Bobzilla,

Here's a thread that might give us some insights:

Someone in that other thread says they have one Michael. Still can't figure out the 5 splitters. Unless... maybe one set works while the EQ is not engaged and the other set works while it is engaged. Just guessing. Even if that was the case.... why that set of 3 in a line there? One would think that 2 should suffice EQ or no EQ. There's 2 pups. Also... shouldn't any decent electrical technician be able to figure out the correct wiring? Don't think you necessarily need a guitar tech specifically. If a guitar tech can't help Domingo... maybe a general electircal tech can. Plus, It does not seem likely that a wiring diagram for anything but this specific guitar is going to help Domingo. Maybe it would help if someone that has one could open up the back and take decent photos of a correctly wired one and post it for him to see.

I think he should assume it doesn't work and unload it to me.

Your best bet is Jim Donahue. He has sent me wiring schematics for vintage guitars...

Better still, if you contact Cameron B., Domingo.. I myself am some sort of guitar tech/electronics guy (retired from active service :-)), but still the best thing here is to get the schematics, not to do anything "wrong"... Guess the upper "row" of switches perform as on the Weir Cowboy, the one beside that led is definitely preamp on/off, but what is the one above it? Sure a very fine MC 3000, they were mentioned in 80s price-list here in Europe...:-)

Add to the previous posting, the tailpiece has been changed, that is a Schaller finetuner-tailpiece..
