What would you estimate the difference in value to be, between an mc500nt and and mc500ds (figure both guitars are same/excellent condition and same year.) I figure the nt is more valuable because considerably less were made. I know '78 mc500nt was 104 made and some more in 1979 but total is still below 300 produced on the nt. One of the things generating this question is the fact that that project guitar was gutted and someone paid $475. In any event, I am interested to know what you think. Dollar amounts estimated would be helpful. |

hey Bobzilla This is an interesting question, i have an NT, weve talked before about them. there was an old thread that talked about the numbers of NT's less than 300 dfinitely like 100 and change made each year for 2 years. I have seen varying prices for both models the nt's just dont come up that often i would say from just thinking about some of the ebay actions ive seen anywere from 100-300.00 in favor of the Blondes due to color alone might be a good guess of course this is subjective as the condition of any guitar affects value as well. They are all in demand thanks to all da hippy jammers and us of course! and im sorry for your loss of that AR. its probably better it was a distant photo (No close ups) and if the guy would do that then maybe the guitar had some hidden issues that you would have over paid for. Keep Looking! |

Thanx Road... and if you remember that thread, I stated I was probably due for another let down concerning a 12 string acoustic I was trying to buy. Well... quite the opposite occurred on the 12 string. Instead of me having to drive hundreds of miles to pick it up, The guy delivered it to my door, gave me the correct set of strings I wanted and threw in 5 sets of 12 strings for my electric ar1200av. Thanx for the input on the mc500's. $300 more for the nt seems pretty good. I think the mc500's have the same electronic setup as an ar500 but... different body style, that's all. I guess if I want an ar500 bad enuff, I can gut the mc500nt, drop the electronics into my 2622 and have something pretty close, except with a one piece neck/smooth heel. (That's sick, I'd never do it. but still...) |
