Received my Bob Weir Cowboy Fancy today all the way from Germany. First thing I noticed when I opened the case was that the binding around the body and neck seems to have a yellowish tint to it. I expected it to be more of a white or bone color. Can any of you Cowboy owners tell me if yours is also this way? Other than that it is a beautiful guitar and I can't wait to get home to play it. I have the ICW site to thank for me having this guitar becuase I did not even know it existed until 3 weeks ago when I found this site. And after much searching I was able to find one in Germany. One interesting thing is that the serial number is F0520933 does this mean that 33 were made? I was under the impression that only 30 were going to be made. Also states above the serial number "Made by Japan, Team J. Craft". Can someone tell me who Team J. Craft is? Anyway the cowboy is finally here and welcomed home by little brother 2681 |

Ya Frank, photos are in order for sure. And congrats on your new guitar. From what I understand. Team J craft is an elite team of luthiers in Japan that build guitars. |

I do have another question so please excuse my ignorance. What exactly does the "coil tap" switch do? I really like the sound of the guitar when this switch is on. I am under the understanding that with this switch on that it turns the dual humbuckers in to single coil pups, am I close? |

Frank, the splitters allow for (I believe) 3 different configurations. 1) Full Humbucking 2) single coil 3) out-of-phase. If I am wrong, someone here will straighten me out pretty quickly, I would imagine. |

Hi Freak, I have read that thread numerous times and just read it again. That thread is the reason I was able to find out about this guitar in the first place. There is some mention about the coil tap switch being a "neck/bridge pickup" coil tap. Therefore I am assuming that when the switch is activated it turns these two pups in to single coil pups. Please correct me if I'm wrong anyone. Thanks. |

Ok, one more time, with feeling! Hehe... the images have to be under 100k, you may need to work some Photoshop magic on them |
