Hi everyone , I just purchased a 78 pf-100 and found out it had a majorly backbowed bolt-on neck. Does anyone know where I might be able to find another neck to replace it or any remedys to straighten a backbowed neck?

I think warped necks are an advanced repair. I'd take it to a good luthier and see what they recommend.

Funkle, Wrecks et al: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that, on all guitars, when you TIGHTEN the truss rod it straightens the natural bow (and ofsets string tension) of the neck...no?

If so, and yours is totally loose, maybe you simply need to tighten it. Go a 1/2 turn clock-wise (as you look at the head) at a time until you get close...1/4 turns for fine truing.

Hope this helps!

Strings if you look at the original post by Wrecks you'll see he has a major back bow problem.

Wrecks is that back bow with or without string tension?

If the neck is backbowed[towards the strings]and the gtr is strung up and tuned to pitch, and the truss rod is still loose, you're in trouble.
I would try a heavier gauge of strings;11-49 or 12-52.This may help correct the problem after a while.Don't let anyone talk you into a 'heat press';they DO NOT work! I repair gtrs for a living and see this all the time.Good Luck!
