Hello! My "new" Musician MC-400 just arrived today, and I've discovered that the active EQ is missing. A couple of questions, if I could. 1) where can I get whatever parts I need to restore this? Circuit board, etc. 2) where can I get a wiring diagram? It actually sounds great, as it is. Currently, it's wired so that the 2 volume pots, 2 tone pots, and 2 black toggle switches all "work," but the 3rd toggle switch (the silver one) is not connected. The 2 black toggle switches cut/boost the treble/mid/bass. I see where the active EQ should be mounted (on the back of the control cavity cover), but it is not there. thanks for any of your thoughts! Your best bet is on eBay. Last one I saw go on eBay was like ~500 bucks -Brent |

Richard, the wiring diagram is available here in ICW, use the search.. What comes to the availability of the complete EQ-preamp board, they do sometimes pop up in eBay, but fetch normally a considerable sums..like Brent said. The very same board is in Artist models..excluding AR 400. I have a set of center-stop 25k pots for that EQ, if you can get the board. |

The Cowboy EQ is a different animal all together and has completely different dimensions vs. Musician/Artist EQ. I think it will require some pretty serious mods to get it to work... mk |

Hey Fox, As mentioned, I could really use those eq pots if Sirricardo doesn't need them. Can we strike a deal? |

How many Cowboy parts do you think are around? They only made 30 so there isn't a bin full of EQ's for that. Plus what Michaelkaufman said "different animal"! |

Phatphred, of course..I must try to figure a "decent price", sort of.. so that both are happy.. I happen to have 2 extra sets of those 20K pots with centre "notch"..NOS Ibanez ones, smooth shaft.. |

Fox, You wouldn't happen to have one of the 50k pre-amp gain pots to fit a 2622/2700 lying around spare per chance. Having some difficulty trying to replace the one in mine. Tom. |

Tom, I have a feeling, that 50 K center-notch pots are readily available, check StewMac.. On the other hand, I have not seen 20 K pots to be used in any other guit circuit. And Phatphred, I still have not figured out any "reasonable" price for those..make me an offer I can not refuse.. |

OK Fox, what do you say to 44 Euros, and no fancy packaging or insurance? That places them at over 10 pounds each in our quaint money, which is a few times over the price of pots that are available in the shops, although with your high cost of living in Finland, it might only buy a sandwich and a glass of Korean Lager! |
