hello everybody, i was wondering if the fretboard on ibanez artists needs any maintenance from time to time and what you guys do to keep the wood from drying up and cracking if that is at all possible. i own a ar 30 and an ar 50 and a believed to be ar 200. do you use oils or semething? thanxs for responding bye bye , eric |

Ekkerman: This question has come up before. Use the Utilities>Search function on the left-hand menu, and search for "fretboard oil" (no quotes), change the Keyword options to "And" and Search topics to "(All Topics)". You'll come up with several threads that offer various opinions. |

I'd say that they don't need any more additional maintenance than your average guitar. The usual method of cleaning/caring for any fingerboard is using Lemon Oil, but a lot of people don't like it because it's a sythetic oil that only smells lemon-y. Wipe it on, then wipe it off, maybe leaving it to soak for a little while in between. You can buy it from most guitar shops. |
