I've been watching a DVD of John Scofield playing with Phil Lesh & Friends from December 04, 2005. He's playing a black Scofield (AS-200?) which I've never seen before. Regardless if he's playing straight ahead rock 'n roll or improvising, he's amazing and is having a great time. Here are the set lists (mostly Dead tunes, of course): SET 1: 1) Just Another Whistle Stop> 2) Loose Lucy 3) Friend Of The Devil> 4) Big River 5) The Stranger> 6) Birdsong> 7) Cold Rain & Snow SET 2: 1) US Blues 2) Sitting On Top Of The World 3) The Wheel> 4) Eyes Of The World> 5) I Know You Rider 6) You've Got To Hide Your Love Away> 7) All Along The Watchtower> 8) Midnight Hour 9) Not Fade Away |

Yeah, he was playing the black AS200 when I saw him last year with the Ray Charles tribute band. Maybe the trusty AS200AV is getting tired? |

I saw him just a few weeks ago in Amsterdam sitting in as a special guest with the Metrpole Orchestra. They played lots of scofield songs and you could see he was having a blast. Playing the black AS all night long. Here's some pics. http://www.obus.biz/JohnScofield/index.html |
