Hello! A buddy is trying to sell me his AR-150 (1983). It is black, with gold hardware, and has the Hard Rocker trem. Overall, in 8.5/10 condition. Pretty good shape, the gold hardware has some corrosion, not too bad. Not very many scratches. A very black guitar! How much should I pay for this? It does not have a case, just a gig bag. I'd never seen this trem before. Does this trem add value, or detract value, from this guitar, vs. a stop tail? thanks for your thoughts - - Richard (510) 559-8275 |

Richard, The trem neither adds nor diminishes the value of the guitar, as long as its original. Its really just a personal preference thing. That being said, I have noticed that the trem equipped Artists have traditionally not been as popular as the hard-tails. I guess the players that want an Artist prefer a fixed bridge. I myself wouldn't pay more than 450 for the guitar in question. If it were mint, it may be able to get $600 max... js |
