Hallo everybody. I have been on this wonderfull site for about a year, some of you might remember me. Ive tried to register on ebay, but they wont let me sell in usa , because Im from Denmark. It is, they say , to prevent fraud. It sounds american to accuse someone of being a criminal to prevent crime. Well my guitar is as told an Artist Custom 2700 with eq. I would rate the condition as 8.5 of 10. It is made in 1980 which makes even more rare, since the stats from Ibanez says the only produced them untill 1979. This is a quite rare guitar and in really good condition. Im sorry to do it like this, but ebay..yeah they suck(if you ask me)Mail me for further information and pics. Only serious bidders please. Dont want to waste my time .This guitar is going NOW . Thank you |

I took as passive agression. In stead of telling me a nice way. Well i guess thats how the web works. It should work if you search for JimiH in the search machine and then "free classifieds.. I might consider trade an Artist" Im in seriously bad mood, have been mailing with ebay for 9 days, to finally get the answer that they wont let me sell to prevent fraud. They would however like to have my cred card info and a lot more. I might " loose " 500-1000 $ on the sale now :-( But i seriously need the cash and have plenty of guitars. I have played on the guitar max 2 hours the last year. Im afraid to damage it, considering what Ive been told it can be worth in 15-20 years. |

Jimi....You need to lighten up dude.....you must be doing something wrong EBay has no problem with you selling, however inorder to sell, you MUST provide a credit card. I has NOTHING to do with fraud, EBay just wants to be able to collect their fees so they need a credit card. |

I know I need to lighten up , especially now when im trying to be the good seller. Bad timing. I have provided them with creditcard info twice. Ive done everything they have asked of me. And then they sended me this mail where the said that they, in order to prevent fraud, wouldnt let me sell. Because I live in Denmark and want to sell in the US. I have never sold anything on ebay and has never done any criminal activity. So it really offends me, especially because I need the money soon. Just lost my job and my apartment. |

Here is a copy of the mail : Hello Jimmi, Thank you for your email about the listing restriction that you encountered. At eBay we're committed to keeping fraud and counterfeits off our site. eBay has introduced new initiatives to ensure the safety of our members. These new initiatives apply to every registered member on the site, so please don't feel that we're singling you out. One of these new initiatives is restricting cross-border trade in certain items. The reason for this is that some countries are more vulnerable to counterfeiting than others and we aim to protect our members from these high risk markets. Please remember that some brand name items are further restricted. If you inadvertently try to list a restricted item, an error message with further information will pop up to let you know which restriction is being breached. I'm afraid we don't share any further information about specific restrictions. By revealing this information we could help members intent on circumventing these initiatives to avoid detection. Here are some of the restrictions in place: 1) You must be registered for a period of time to sell certain items. 2) 1 & 3 day listings will no longer be available for particular items. 3) Sellers must verify their PayPal account and link it to their eBay account. 4) The high volume listing of certain types of items will be restricted. For more information see point 7 in the link: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/selling-btac-faq s.html Please understand that these initiatives are designed to protect all of our members from fraud and counterfeits. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. I realise that this may not be the answer that you'd anticipated, but I hope that this information helps to clarify our position for you. Kind regards, Maureen Perkins eBay Customer Support |

Unfortunately, a little yeast leavens the whole bread sometimes. I see it all the time. A few people do something wrong, so a regulation has to be put in place to stop them, unfortunately it stops the honest people too. In the guitar industry, fraud is a big deal as there are so many counterfeiters out there, and Ibanezes are becoming quite collectible. Apparently, there's a lot of counterfeit guitars coming out of Denmark lately.....not your fault. By the way, I'm sure other countries besides America have these types of regulations. |

I wondered why the hundreds of fake Ibanez guitars listed each day from China disappeared from ebay. You've gotta feel bad for the kid that works hard flipping burgers after school and saves his money only to wind up with an unplayable piece of crap. Unfortunately the trickle down effect harms good sellers too. |

Bond... how did you recognize the fakes? I am surprised you said "hundreds" but, if that's true it's pretty scary. Was it that many or was that a slight exaggeration? If these people making the fakes were thwarted by ebay, they still have the axes, they still intend to sell them and ebay is pretty easy to get around if you want to, I mean, I know they can get back on ebay with only the slightest effort and thought. I'm surprised there wasn't more discussion of something like this on this site. I've seen it mentioned but you seem to have noticed a real big bunch of fakes. |

These guys are equal opportunity offenders, and selling them by the hundreds! Check it out: Everything from Gretsch to Gibson, Fender, PRS, JEM's, "All you can eat for 200 bucks a piece," LOL! www.musoland.com.cn I've spotted a bunch of these on Flea Bay, and actually got a few kicked off, because people were selling them as the real deal, and getting BIG bids on them. They're so obviously fakes, IF you know what to look at, but many people don't know....... |

Holy Crap! I've been to that site quite a few times, and never got warned of a virus. Maybe I'd better switch from Norton to McAfee..... and maybe that's why my computer runs like molasses in Janurary,LOL. Anyways, they're the ones (or one of them) in China turning out the $200 JEMs, les Pauls, and all that. The JEM copies are dead giveways, but some of the Gibsons at least "cosmetically" look decent in the pictures, but that's kinda like the Whoppers in BK's big window posters. Look one heckuva lot better than they do once you throw your $$$ down & see them on your tray! |
