I was told this model is based on the Dumble Overdrive Special sound. It is arguably the best dumble clone currently around. Depending on tubes and speaker (and your playing, of course) you can get a very authentic Larry Carlton or Robben Ford like sound. I have tried tons of boutique pedals but no overdrive is as smooth and creamy as the one built in the Fuchs. The only pedals I have on my pedal board are a volume pedal and a boss tuner pedal, that's all you need with this amp (I do occasionaly use a Fulltone TTE in the effects loop). This is my spare amp (yes, I have another one) which hasn't been played for more than 10 hours and is basically new.
