It's with a heavy heart that I'm doing this, but here goes:

December 1978 Ibanez Iceman IC200 (one of only around 300 built that year), set neck model with 2v, 2t & 3 way selector, and the original case.

It's got a NOS Super80 in the neck position and a Bare Knuckle Pickups VHII in the bridge, the nut has been replaced with a brass item (not the half bone/half brass), there has been a switch installed & removed by the bridge pickup controls, and a plug has been put into the hole. It's been well used and the body certainly has quite a few dings to prove it, the neck however, is in excellent condition. The bridge and tail piece are oringinal items also (Gibraltar/Quik Change).

£600 (UK only)

Pics to follow.

Hi Skybone!

I think the £/$ rate is scaring the Yanks. Strange isn't it that vintage Ibanez in the UK just hasn't cought on. Most still don't have a clue what they're looking at.

Do you still get over to the TGRF?

Hey Six,

The exchange rate is... erm... in our favour at the moment , great for getting stuff, not so great for selling though. Vintage Ibanez did catch on over here for a while, but seems to have died off a bit.

Not as active on forums these days, mainly down to the fact that we now have 6 month old twins! Barely get the chance to pick a guitar up, let alone get on forums!

I don't know if it's the exchange rate that's scaring us Yanks away but the initial post states, "UK only".

I'm not interested, just pointing this out.

It does state UK Only, purely because the cost of posting something from the UK to the US is flipping expensive, to say the least.

Posting to mainland Europe is a little better, but is still quite expensive. I'd happily post to Europe, but it does cost...

I *think* it's about $250-$300 USD to ship a guitar from the UK to the US.

Exactly, I don't see many US buyers wanting to snap my IC200 up and then pay another $250-300 to get it shipped to the US.

UK postage is included in the price though.

A U.S. buyer could probably avoid ship costs completely if by some weird coincidence they knew someone who was flying back to the US from ther UK and they could put it on the plane as luggage or whatever but... that's a stretch. My girl was just in Liverpool for 2 weeks, she just got back, so that would have been a good coincidence for just such a purchase. Nice axe by the way.

Weird coincidence. I'm originally from Liverpool, and I bought it from a guy in Liverpool! (Cue Twighlight Zone theme...)

Thanks, it is a fantastic guitar, shame it has to go...

Posting from the UK to anywhere else, such as Africa, Asia, Aus & New Zealand are equally as expensive & therefore would put people off.

I can only wholeheartedly apologise for being UK based Ibanez fan with a classic vintage Ibanez for sale, and for living in a country where it is really expensive to post/ship guitars to anywhere other than the country I live in.

I'm just trying to pass it on to someone else who'll appreciate it for the excellent classic guitar that it is.

I'm not giving it away though!

Wait, 600 pounds, that's only EUR 860.46
If you compare that to that 1995 Korean PS10-II of last week, I think this price is far more reasonable.(I still think that was a shill deal to drive up the prices, but that's me...).
And 1978 is REALLY Vintage.
Dang, too many bills...
I'll have to work harder...

Like I said in a previous post, I am prepared to post it anywhere, however, postage FROM the UK to Europe, North America and anywhere else in the world is still pretty expensive.

Juha, I'll look into costs for shipping to Scandinavia and the rest of Europe.
