I HAD ONE 22 YEARS AGO, GIVEN AS A GIFT FROM MY GRANDFATHER THAT RAISED ME. SADLY, SHORTLY AFTER GRADUATING & MOVING OUT IN 1984, I HAD TO SELL IT TO EAT. MY GRANDFATHER PASSED AWAY THIS PAST DECEMBER 2004, AND I AM ON THE SEARCH TO FIND AND KEEP THIS INSTRUMENT. I'M SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR ONE AS PICTURED BELOW IN ITS STOCK CONDITION WITH HARDSHELL CASE. IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANYONE WHOM WOULD HAVE ONE, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD PASS THEIR INFORMATION ON TO ME, OR MINE ON TO THEM. THIS REALLY MEANS A LOT TO ME. I FOUND THIS FORUM, AND JOINED SPECIFICALLY TO FIND THIS INSTRUMENT, NOT TO MENTION, I'VE OWNED ABOUT A DOZEN KILLER IBANEZ GUITARS OVER THE YEARS. |

Thank you for the link, but if you view my pics, it's the same version with the hard rocker pro trem, that's the only difference. Thank you for the link though. |

Tony the model you are looking for is the RR-550CS made in 1983 through early 84, the model above is a 1982 RR-400CS. |

What is the difference? I've looked closely and it appears to be the same as my RR-550CS was. |

The RR-400 had a true v shape & was not offered with a trem. The RR-550 had a uneven outer edge on both sides of the v & was also only offered with the trem. The 400 had the "Rocket Roll II" logo The 550 had the "X Series" logo |

Also the toggle switch is in a different location & the inner v is more rounded making the guitar look wider than the RR-400 |

your images did not work, but I'm sure you are correct, mine was in fact a RR550, I just was not sure what the difference was. I am indeed looking for the 550, just as is pictured with the tremolo. Thank you for your input, for those of you looking, thank you as well. |

Found one but in wine red. Thought you might like to take a look at it. Keep in mind that the price is in Aussie dollars. Joey http://www.guitarcrazy.com.au/ibanez.htm |
