I received an email from someone who has an Artist for sale - pic below. His email described the guitar as follows... "well i have had it about 20 yrs and probably played it a dozen times (just at home) it is in excellent shape. a previous owner must have set it down on something hard as there is a tiny chip in the finish on the back lower edge . I would say smaller than any two letters put together that are on this email. the gold plating on the pickups is a bit tarnished but new covers would take care of that.....the finish on the back has no buckle rash and looks almost mint in itself too...it plays wonderful .. after seeing that mint artist on Ebay go for around $3100 the other day I would say that this would be in the$2000-2500 range...there is an ibanez hard case that has a few small dings and tears in the fabric but the inside is very good to excellent." Truthfully, I don't believe he has a clue as to what it is worth. The dollar figures quoted above are Aussie dollars. Serial Number of Artist is E840076 Here's the pic... If you have an interest in getting more info, I would be glad to put you in touch by email. I have no financial stake in this at all and I don't know the person except by this email. All the best, falcon |

I've tried to enlighten him as to why the AR300 was worth more than his. I agree Dave_g. I believe he'd take much less. |

Looks like an AR100AV. Anybody know where in Australia it is? |

Jeff, I meant to say AR105AV in my post. You're right though, $A2000 may be a bit ambitious for that instrument. That's about $US1500 |

Just noticed the S/No on that one, mine is F825914. Does this mean 1984 was a very quiet year for making guitars? |

I too believe it's an AR105AV - burled. Again, I do not personally know the owner, but he contacted me by email to see if I'd be interested. I have his email address and I'd be happy to pass it along if anyone else is interested. I am still "digesting" an AR500. best, falcon |
