Since this is a 1980 AR-100, I suppose the pickups are V2's? This guitar is for a kid into metal / thrash style of music. Maybe he'll like the V2's better? |

The V2s will be OK, but he's probably into heavy dropped tuning sounds and/or pinch harmonics. He'd probably be better off with DiMarzio Evolutions or another "modern" pickup. |
