Hey Emilio, I don't have one... But here's a real nice one for sale if you're willing to pay for it! It's overseas in Sweden! It's for sale at tip top musik.. They quoted me $1120 US plus 100-150 us for shipping. I don't know how flexible they are? But it'a real nice guitar all original with case.. http://www.tiptop.se/cgi-bin/multipage.cgi?id=1854 |

Wouldn't that be a 2619? Paul |

Paul, 1980 definitely makes it an AR300. If you look at the pic of the back, the heel is more pronounced and not smoothed out like the 2619. I have a 2619, but it is most definitely NOT for sale! ;) |

I know but why not doubt the years that is given. The one in the pics in the link has flying fingers pups instead of plaincovered super58's and the neck pickup is too close to the edge of the body for an AR300. I still go for the 2619. Paul (standing to be corrected ) |

I agree with Lespaul that it has the features of a 2619. They may not have called it a 2619 in 1980, but the body, neck set and pups put it in that earlier branch of the AR family tree. |

I'm in total agreement, but I've been "put right" many, many times about '79 being the "transition" year for the Artist, even though I own a '79 2619 (Super80's, smooth heel, thin body etc). The picture of the Artist in question looks that bit thicker, the control cavity covers are plastic, and the heel detail isn't as smooth a heel as the Smooth Heel (if you get my meaning). IMO, 1980 was the transition year for the Artist, and this is a transition model, maybe in name only... :? |

That guitar is truly a transitional model. The first "AR"-Artists showed up in August 1979, the change from Super80 to Super58 was made in May or June 1980, as far as I know. Another feature that is typical for a '80 Artist is the Gibraltar tailpiece with the slanted slots. Juergen |

All this discussion and nobody mentions the most obvious change? The bodies got thicker! That's why the heel looks different. Steve |
