Funny you should ask -- I just resolved to sell my DT155 -- that I got a while ago in a trade. Upgraded with a Washburn Wonderbar, but no string locks (ugly attempt, I'm guessing). Lots of pics here: http://www.harrisonfamily.org/bass/ibanezdestroyer/ Let me know where you're located -- I'm near Chicago, IL. Cheers! ltt |

Not picky at all :-) that's the DT555, I believe, and it's a pretty nice step up -- set neck, better bridge, etc. Best of luck!! ltt |

There is a DT-555 up for auction on ebay right now. Kind of beat up but all ebay destroyers seem to be kind of rough. I bought one of these a couple of months ago and the stock trem on mine is just awful. I've read quite a few posts on this site about problems with this bridge system (Pro Rock'r) so you might want to consider the cost of repair/replacement when looking. They pop up on ebay more than you might think if you’re looking for one in better cosmetic condition. http://www.qksrv.net/click-1802666-10381315?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI .dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D7393890753 |

One thing to note about this guitar is that the removed string lock is a large piece sitting behind the nut. If you look at the pic of the guitar in its case it looks like the black finish is missing or obscured by something. The close up pic of the head stock cuts off right before this area by the nut. I would ask for a pic of this area before bidding, maybe ask around to see if those strap peg holes could be repaired. I would guess if the string lock has been removed the trem has been set up to be a fixed tailpiece. |
