Hello, I've been a long term Destroyer II fan 25+ years, finally bought the DT-50 that was the first guitar I ever lusted after, and now I'm wanting to expand my Destroyer collection a little. I understand that the Destroyer was still produced in Japan in the late 80's and 90's and I just missed out on a beautiful black set neck with a locking trem on Ebay last night. I've seen some pics on here of Destroyer II's with the Edge trem on them, and I'm very interested in aquiring one. I'm not looking for mint condition guitars, I play my guitars on a regular basis and they get beat up, so I would prefer a player condition guitar (and price). I can be contacted by email dwestern@sc.rr.com you can also check out my myspace music profile: http://www.myspace.com/derekwestern Back in 2000 I quit playing to focus on my job and family, but now that I'm divorced, I've decided to get back into playing. My dream guitar has always been a Destroyer II with a Floyd, but up until recently, I wasn't aware that they'd actually been produced. I'm also interested in a set neck Destroyer as well. |

The only Detroyer that ever came equipped with a Edge trem was the 1986 DG-555BK. Good luck finding one as I have only seen 1. The 1984-85 DT-555BK & DT-450's came with the Pro Rock'r double locking trem. These are both setneck Destroyers. I posted a photo os a 90's Destroyer a few weeks back that looked like it a Edge factory trem, but it was a bolt on neck & I have not seen it in any catalogs & believe it was a Japanese only model. BTW your just up the beach from me I'm in Charleston. |

Thanks for the Info guys... I've been watching the Ebay auctions like a hawk recently. There was a customized set neck DT with a Floyd Rose installed on it a while ago that I wished I'd picked up. I was hoping that one of the bolt on reissues had an Edge tremelo on it, but I guess not. I'd love to pick up that one in Japan, but no connections there any more. Hey Laaz, nice to know that there is a collector close by. This site has a wealth of info on it, wish there was a resource out there like this for Charvel/Jackson guitars, but I haven't found it yet if there is. I'm primarily a Charvel/Jackson player these days, but I was an Ibanez player for years and especially the Destroyers have a special place in my heart, and I use my DT-50 to do most of my writing on. |
