Blair, Could you post some pictures of your guitar here? Indeed, lifting on someone else's listing is not so decent. Tyson's guitar is a sunburst and has a pickguard/ corrosion problem. So perhaps your guitar can distinguish itself by its condition/ appearance: perhaps it's a corrosion free natural blonde with an intact bound tortoise pickguard on it or with it. Avoid that people start comparing apples and oranges, based on price info only. Ginger |

Thanks for that, Ginger. It sounds like my guitar is vastly superior. It is a gorgeous blonde with some wear on the gold but no corrosion and perfect plastic. Being not too savvy with these things I haven't sorted out how to post photos here yet, but I can email them. |

No, please don't tempt me. I have a blonde Aria Pro II L-1000 (NT), so I'm no serious prospect for this one. Just read the JohnS's instructions and upload the pics. You can use the Search option with the keyword upload. You are the one to sell this beauty, not me. It's not bad to show off, if you want to sell. Blondes have more fun! Just look at the price differences between VS and NA for Gibsons: http://www.electricsound.com/PRIJSLIJSTEN/Prijslijsten_2006_MI/PDF_2006/CS_Nashv ille_Core_prijslijst_13-3-2006.pdf and http://www.electricsound.com/PRIJSLIJSTEN/Prijslijsten_2006_MI/PDF_2006/CS_Nashv ille_Non_Core_prijslijst_13-3-2006.pdf €1700.- for the same guitar (L4-CES) in the NA version compared to the VS version and €2300.- compared to the WR version. For the Byrdland it's €2000.- more for the NA compared to the VS. The L5-CES NA isn't even on the list anymore in Holland. They were about ƒ34.000 in 1999 or 2000 before the Euro (that's €15,450.-) I think we both have very nice alternatives at prices that are much more affordable, but the prices are rising. The last 2460NA went for $2800.- on Ebay. So your price seems very reasonable. Ginger |

Tyson... the point Ginger was making (too diplomatically, IMO) was... Shut up & push yours on your own thread, NOT someone else's! |

Hahaha... You're defending it in the wrong place! You even tried to push it on a thread about a 2640! Come on man, you don't need that! Your guitar has qualities of its own. There are always people who will prefer sunburst over natural and vice versa. Point is that the naturals are the poor man's L-5CES NT, which is MUCH MORE expensive than the L-5CES VS, even so much, that it is not on the Dutch price list anymore. (They were glad, they sold the last one). So people who have this dream in their heads but can't afford the real McCoy are willing to pay a certain percentage of the Gibson list price. And for a natural that's slightly more than for a sunburst. So, we have indeed apples and oranges here. And one guy has an oranges thread, and the other has an apples thread, he forgets to use, because he's too busy bothering the customers of the orange man. Start working on some good pictures with a good neutral background and good lighting and you will sell your apples at a good price in your own thread. Have no worries about that. The more desperately you present your guitar, the less people will pay for it. That's how it works. Look how much houses of divorced couples are sold for. If the market smells blood... you won't get what it's really worth. Ginger |

"im not trying to push it, i was just defending my guitar." fyi... THIS THREAD AIN'T ABOUT YOUR GUITAR!!! If you hadn't been pushing it to begin with, there'd be no reason to defend it, yourself or anything else! You're just digging yourself in deeper. Quit while you still have any level of credibility. In other words... Just give up & take your issues elsewhere!!! |

Break it up folks! The point is I have an excellent example of a 2640 Ibanez from 1976 that I'm willing to sell to someone who would use it more than I have been for some time. Maybe on the weekend I'll sort out how to post photos here. Blair |
