Are you sure about these shipping cost? I heard the wildest stories about shipping cost and never shipped to or from USA. What service do you use and what are the insurance possibilities? Ginger |

hi ginger, I would use DHL (german post). up 5 to 10 kgs to northamerika (zone 3) it costs 42,-- euros. for handling and package I take 3,-- euros. what did you hear about shipment costs? the other way (from usa to germany) I paid 50 usd (I guess it was usp ground and took about 7 weeks) for an ibanez-roadstar deluxe bass, but most of the amerikan sellers ask a hell lot more. maggy |

Yup, shipping to and from Europe isn't awful if you're willing to wait 2 months for delivery. 45 euros is about $60USD and that's what I'd expect for a guitar-weight thing going surface. But if you want it in a more normal time-frame, it basically doubles (that seems to be the pattern for US Mail, anyway). And shipping TO Europe can get tricky when you factor in customs or VAT taxes...I guess it might happen in Canada too. We don't get that in the US, so from that perspective, shipping overseas can quickly seem outrageous... |
