Hello,
I have a '97 like new, no dings, no scratches, beautiful MIJ Ibanez AS180 guitar for sale. This guitar is practically the same guitar as the AS200, minus the fancy gold plating (the hardware is silver), block inlays and flame maple top (the top is maple, but not flame).
The guitar is absolutly georgous.
So, it's actually a very good guitar, which I bought a few weeks ago after selling my '92 AS200. I have to say that that AS180 actually sounds better.
For quite a while I'm trying to save money to buy a spruce top full Ibanez hollow body guitar.
but they don't go for cheap, and the money I saved from selling the AS200 and buying that AS180 from the USA is not enough for me.
so sadly I have to part with it.
I'm located in Berlin, Germany.
the guitar comes with the original case, papers, original condition, not even ONE ding or scratch.
It's a chance to get the same guitar as the AS200 for a lesser price.
Please, send me an offer to my email,
I promise to reply as soon as I get it.
I will also send it out of Germany, that's not a problem.

My address is elaforge@gmail.com

Thank you very much.

I have posted some pics here:

What's the point in paying overseas shipping cost twice and ending up with only one guitar?
You're just pumping money around!

Why don't you try to earn some extra money and put it aside, and keep your (very good) semi-acoustic?
I you have a few months more patience there will be opportunities to buy a spruce arched top hollow body guitar too (end of August for instance, after the holidays). It must be possible to buy a 2355 under €1000.- (that's about $1300.-)
And the price of the 2355M you missed (€1110.-), was for an exceptional beauty in flame maple with open book headstock. I've seen the Sunburst 2355 with spruce top go cheaper in Germany. (BTW: Don't expect miracles from a solid spruce top! Expect feedback! And regrets of selling the AS180).

Greetz,

Ginger

You're probably right, I do like this guitar quite a lot.
I decided to sell not only it, but also my strat (an american Fender) because for more than one year I don't play anything that's not a neck pickup straight ahead clean jazz guitar.
I'm not even a collector, I just like the feel of a nice Ibanez guitar.
Because of that, I decided to sell and to make up for myself by buying a very nice hollow body.

But anyways, I have to thank you for your advice, because your're actually right.
I've been thinking about it alot though, therefore it's offered here for sale.
I actually bought it on ebay for about 860$, I can supply a link for the original auction, I'm just looking to get about the same money back, that's all.

That's what I meant with pumping money around.
The shipping companies are the laughing third. They ship the same guitar over and over again.

The price you paid was good (to European standards).

About not touching certain guitars for over a year: every musician has phases in which he plays for example only acoustic dreadnaughts in Irish sessions, or only jazz boxes in jazz sessions. Some phases take 4 weeks, some take 4 years.

But if you are focussed on jazz at the moment, there will be tunes that sound better on an ES-335 type guitar, such as the AS200, AS180 or AS120 or AS80. I think every jazz player needs one full acoustic jazz box and one semi-acoustic, just to have a wider spectrum of sound colours, and to avoid feedback in certain settings. I advice you to keep it. And the Strat? That depends... what type, what year. Honestly I never even thought about selling my 1987/88 MIJ Fender Strat, though I didn't use it for years. I was to busy customising and creating my two blonde neck through strats: one Jarock and one prefab wearing a De Vocht label. (former Tumbleweeds guitarist Arie de Vocht is a Fender guru in Holland). I put the folowing pickups in it to make it the most versatile strat I have, also suitable for jazz: neck pu Fender Lace Sensor BLUE(jazz humbucker sound) middle pu Fender Lace Sensor SILVER(overwound strat sound) and bridge pu Fender Lace sensor RED (high output shredder humbucker sound)

But if I want to hear a good Shadows' sound, I take the real Fender. I still like that, but it's not the kind of music that contributes to my musical development. But I know it's a phase, and there will be others, I just don't know when.

If I would want to buy a good Strat after let's say 5 years, I would have to pay a ridiculous price, because they only go up.
Twelve years ago the normal price for a second hand 70's USA strat was about 1000 Dutch guilders, now you pay more than double (200-400%).

It's pure inflation! Putting money on the bank isn't going to help.
