When the site was updated on October 8 2004 with new software all of the post prior to then carry that date. I knew it was an old post (how old I didn't know) because I saw it before, but was turned off by the add-on trem system on the 2681 mentioned. After being outbid, and sniped time & time again on ebay for every 2681 that surfaces, I'm willing to try anything! Keep trying and it will happen. Most collectors will tell you the same thing. If you keep seeking, you will find. Guitarjo is a person to get to know. Although he keeps his presence on the web very low key, he has been dealing in good quality Ibanez for many years and has had gobs of great guitars go through his hands. From what I've read about it, it's made just for the man, although I saw Bobby Cochran (Steppinwolf/Bobby & the Midnites) playing a VERY similar one which might have had 3 humbuckers if I remember correctly. Thanks for the contact info for guitarjo. I put a reply in one of his posts of my search for the 2681. Hopefully something will happen..........someday! Oh, and that guitar in the link I posted is a double cutaway which you can't really see in the pic. A more radical cut than an artist, but the horns are a bit softer, maybe like a 2612. Same body inlay as the 2674, 2675, and 2676 except for the inlay directly behind the tailpeice....interesting! Weir also had one exactly like the one in the link, without any body inlay. Could this have been a prototype for the 2640! The 12 string headstock is too cool.
