Hello, all, I'm a Newbie to the boards here... I have a mid-'70's Concord Hummingbird sunburst 12-string. I bought it used from someone in 1976 or 1977 for $195 and it has been a beautiful musical companion for 30 years. Clear, warm sound, loud when it needs to be, perfect action. Yet, I was thinking about getting rid of the Ibanez because someone gave me a 12-string electric-acoustic Alvarez (~1978) and have no space for another guitar. Before doing so I decided to do some research and came to this website. So I realize now that my little humble Ibanez, outstripped by all those fab Martins and Gibsons that were doing their thing in the seventies, is actually a good and rather hard-to-find item!! Now I will not be getting rid of it! My question is, therefore, does any know about how much this guitar is worth now? It has wear and tear since it was played for 30 years. Thanks and I love reading this website! |

Well, these hummingbirds do come up fairly frequently on eBay. I'd say generally they're in the sub-$500 US range, maybe closer to $200 -$300, though I hate to use eBay selling price as a gauge. The Concords were great guitars. Some had crappy tuners, and occasionally truss rod problems, but they're great collectibles (IMO). |
