Hello everyone, it is my first post, but won't be the last. I leave in Poland and play the guitar for 15 years. I want to discuss and share my knowledge about Ibanez guitars with all of you! I own few Ibanez guitars: FG100, AF75, Roland G303,505 & 707.

I'm looking for good sounding acoustic guitar for some time and I just have thought why not Ibanez. I just found this one on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7336628378&fromMakeTrack=true

The title says it is Ibanez 952 from 1972, but I don't think so - the 952 has had a a violin-like protrusion on the back (harmony-central review says so and I found the same information in a post on this forum) - this one does not have it.

What do you think about this guitar? What model it is? Is it worth the money guy wants for it?

Goddard:

Here's what I found about the 952: D size, arched mahogany back, original list price $199.50. I don't know if it really is an "all solid body" guitar. Generally a solid spruce top guitar would have been in the mid to upper $200.00 price range and the literature would have been quick to point out this "feature".

Here's a catalog page from 1975 that shows the 951 (bowl back) and 952, no specs though:

As far as not having the "violin-like protrusion" on the back, I'm wondering if it's the poor quality of the photo that just isn't showing it up that well. I'd ask for more pictures of the guitar from the side and a close up of the label so you can read the actual model number.

Ask for the serial number also. It may be on the inside, stamped on the neck block.

Is it worth the $400.00 Buy It Now price? Not to me. But it wouldn't be unheard of for a guitar of this vintage to go for that amount.

Hi everyone,
I just bought my first Ibanez Guitarr!!!
It's a Mod. 952, similar to the one Goddard was interested in. Seeing that Goddard's ended up selling for 159US, I hope I did not overpay - I paid 181 Euros (218 US).
Does someone know what these usually go for? What (except condition of course) determines the price?
Thanks, Jan
