Hello I've got a Lonestar LE420 TR(85070435), the guitar has two "f-wholes", one on each side near the the bridge. I don't imagine how much does it custs, or how rare is this guitar. Can you tell me about it? |

My Lonestar catalogs don't show any model with f-holes. I think a Lonestar with f-holes would be quite rare indeed. Can you post some pictures? Ace |

This is another case of the famous Ibanez:"...just when you think you've seen everything..." scenerio. A regular LE420DV would usually fetch between $300 to $350, I paid $325 for one with original hard shell case. But this one? I really can't say for sure. I'll be very interested if it is for sale though. Ace |

Hallo Ace, I've got more information about the guitar from the german generalimporteur. Here are the mail from him: Hallo Jörg, ich konnte dieses Modell LE420 zwar in einer Sonderpreisliste von 1988 mit ca. DM 1000.- finden, jedoch keine Abbildung in unserem Katalogarchiv. I try to translate: Hello Joerg, I knew this model LE420 in a special price list of 1988 with approx.. DM 1000.( ca. 500€/ 500$)I find, however no illustration in ours Catalog archives. That lets assume, that we have only a few pieces in Germany as special models, or however your model comes from the USA, I could not find also the color TR in the 88iger price list. The model has certainly meanwhile "collecting tank status". Like the today's value in this connection stands, I do not know unfortunately. I estimate between 300 - 500€ It is however a very exceptional piece, that possibly dealed by "specialists" highly. With friendly regards Reinhard Keller Meinl GmbH I hope my translation is not so bad. What do you think? Rossie |

It was probably an European model that was not imported to the U.S. then. The two knobs are the same as those used on the earlier AE series which was the predecessor of the Lonestars. I think it was made during the early stage of Lonestar production not long after the AE transitioned into the LE. This is consistant with the serial number which suggests a 1985 manufacturing date. Very interesting guitar. Ace |

In Europe the guitar was not a modell from a "standard series". So it's look like the guitar was a rare special modell maybe exclusiv for Europe when it's not imported to the USA. Very interesting to get some information about this guitar. Thanks a lot for your suppport. Do you know someone, who are interested for this guitar? Rossie |
