Hello. Can someone help me? I'm from Japan, and I'm thinking of bidding on this auction: http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n35724801? But I'm by no means a specialist on Ibanez Acoustic models, and I don't know the normal (standard) price for this model. Any opinion is welcome! And, one more thing. I don't think there are plenty of this model here in Japan. How about the situation there, specifically in the U.S.? Is this "one of those" guitars appearing often in, say, e-Bay auction? I don't know how rare/popular this model is.... |

Hasenobu, i have a Ragtime Special 460 Black, its at the moment at the luthier fro some adjustments, personal i think its one of the best sounding acoustic guitars Ibanez produced...highly recommanded if you can get it for a nice price...it has a very loud sound and its crystal clear and very dynamic. |

Hasenobu, I have an R400 the same as this which I have owned since new. They are not very common here is Aus, but also not all that popular. The arched back centainly makes it a very loud sounding and popular with fingerpicking styles. The most common faulys to watch are firstly the truss rod cover does perish, and secondly, the bridge has a tendancy to lift and warp the top, sometimes lifting off. Price.... well, a friend of mine bought one at the dump shop for $5, but I have seen one sell for $900aud. Generally $400 to $600aud is the norm. |

Hello. Thank you, guys!! I turned out to be a winning bidder this time. The price didn't go very high, and the auction ended for about US $250 including the shipping fee. I'll post some pictures when the guitar arrives. |

I'm very sorry that this posting is so late. The guitar arrived safely 2 weeks ago, but I forgot to post the pictures: As can be seen easily, the S/N is 802103. Does this indicate that this guitar was made in 1980? |

Pitviper, >how does it sound? Describing how it sounds is rather difficult for me. I agree with Artfield in that "it has a very loud sound and its crystal clear and very dynamic" if the two "very"s are deleted. At the same time, however, even a very young Martin D-15 has better sounds in all respects; treble, middle, and bass, not to mention D-28. I'm quite satistied with this one, though. |
