Forget "Pre-Lawsuit", here's pre-Hoshino, pre Spanish Civil War, pre-1929 and pre the family-run music shop that started buying Salvador Ibanez guitars from Spain.

The story is recorded elsewhere, but we in England are not privy to distribution of the "Untold Story" book. Maybe JD's comments on this link will illuminate: http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/discus/messages/6484/6660.html#POST18338

Very very vintage, I would say. And what's so funny about it...
It has an open book shaped slotted headstock.

Questions: did Salvador Ibanez know the USA Gibson headstock as he made these guitars?
Did Gibson make SLOTTED open book headstocks before Salvador Ibanez did?
Can Hoshino now claim the right to make open book headstocks too? Whoah, this is fun!

Greetz,

Ginger Ale
