Would appreciate info.; rarity, value? for a Spanish guitar with the following label:
Guitarras de Artesania
Hand Made in Spain
Banus & Ibanez
Benetuser
(Espana)
No. 206
Does this mean anything to anyone? I acquired this guitar about 17 years ago and put it away...recently pulled it from storage. Thanks for the help.

Servicemasterclean,

And now for some serious answers:
I found this 1980 Banus-Ibanez flamenco in Norway:
http://www.flamencoweb.no/gitarer.html
15.000 Krones is about $2,223.47

and this one:
http://www.vintageguitarsaustralia.com/sold_gallery.htm
with a crack and no price.

The years that appear in the search are 1980 and the '70s. They are considered VINTAGE.

The value depends on the type (materials used on the guitar).

A description of the woods and features and/ or pictures might help. I didn't find the 206 (yet).

Hmmm...Could it be that 'Banus-Ibanez' is the surname of the Spanish luthier/builders and not affiliated with Hoshino-Ibanez guitars?

Guitartim,

I believe you may be on to something. I spoke with a man who said the same thing. His books listed "all" guitar makers from the year 1200 to 2000 and Banus-Ibanez didn't show up. But, I have the guitar here and there is one on the site posted by Gemberbier above. i'm certainly getting the sense that this is not an expensive guitar but my curiosity is surely piqued. I'll continue to search and if anyone knows anything, place me a post. Thanks. - Jason
